I was nominated by my friend Jason at the weekend to do the ice bucket challenge. So I figured that a few seconds of discomfort for a good cause was worth it and took him up on it.
Before we forget what it’s all about the challenge came about to highlight the plight of those who suffer from Motor Neuron Disease, in the USA this is known as ALS or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Whatever you call it this is a fatal progressive disease for which, at the moment, there is no cure. The sufferer slowly looses the ability to take care of themselves as their ability to move deteriorates eventually leading to them being feed themselves and, ultimately, to breathe.
